Éa éco-entreprises hosted a "Public Procurement and the Ecological Transition" conference

On Thursday, September 12, at the Toulon Congress Center, Éa éco-entreprises hosted a conference titled "Public Procurement and the Ecological Transition," in partnership with the P5 Innobroker European Project.

In its third edition, this year's theme was “Building Together for the Future: Keys to Tackling the Challenge.” It provided an excellent platform for discussions on the latest developments, best practices, and innovative strategies in eco-construction.

The event was filled with engaging exchanges, constructive debates, and a shared enthusiasm to tackle the challenges associated with sustainable building practices. The program was comprehensive, covering the entire lifecycle of a building - from design and construction to usage and decommissioning.

Speakers addressed common issues and shared best practices within the construction industry.

  • It is essential to dismantle barriers between all stakeholders, encouraging architects, public buyers, project owners, builders, and end-users to communicate effectively. Many local solutions are already available; they simply require active listening and a common-sense approach, alongside a broader perspective.
  • Some sectors are currently under restructuring, highlighting the urgent need to map regional players to facilitate better identification for public purchasers.
  • The public procurement code is sufficiently developed to support various initiatives and should not be viewed as a hindrance by either buyers or solution providers.

Throughout the event, companies and public purchasers had the chance to showcase their solutions and expertise in three pitch sessions. Innovative products and case studies on display demonstrated commitment, creativity, and boldness - serving as great sources of inspiration for attendees.

The event successfully fostered in-person meetings and discussions, facilitating connections between public buyers and innovative solution developers, making it an ideal venue for the P5 Innobroker European Project.

As one speaker aptly noted, "we are learning as we go." Indeed, eco-construction calls for everyone to think creatively, and the P5 project plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between needs and solutions.
